New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern had her first Australian interview yesterday. Kiwi Steve Marshall interviewed Jacinda for A Current Affair in her Wellington office.

There will be more media over the weekend with Ardern’s first visit to Australia as Prime Minister. She will meet with PM Malcolm Turnbull on Sunday.

It’s been just one week since Jacinda Ardern was catapulted onto the global political stage as New Zealand’s 40th Prime Minister. She formed a Coalition government with colourful MP, Winston Peters, who was named Foreign Minister, with just 7% of the vote. Ms Ardern spoke exclusively with Steve Marshall earlier today, ahead of her first visit to Australia, as PM.
