Criteria for NZ Fee Free study in 2018

To qualify for Fee Free study students must be enrolled in a course commencing in 2018 that is recognised by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority or Universitys New Zealand, at New Zealand Qualifications Framework level 3 or above.

Residency criteria

Provider-based study – students must be allowed to work and live in NZ permanently, or be an Australian or New Zealand resident who has lived in New Zealand for at least three years

Industry-based training – students must be either a New Zealand citizen, or an Australian or New Zealand resident who has lived in New Zealand for at least three years while holding a residence class visa.

Residents, including Australian citizens and Permanent Residents, who haven’t lived in New Zealand for at least three years while holding a residence class visa still receive tuition subsidies as domestic students.

You can study extramurally, in New Zealand or from overseas, or on-campus in New Zealand.
